My army for the Warhammer 40,000 tournament I'm off to tomorrow, 1500 points of Dark Angels Space Marines and a Knight Errant Titan. The army I play isn't the strongest out there, so I don't expect to do fantastic, but hey, the dice can giveth as easily as they taketh away, so there's always hope.

My brother and I were discussing this game last night. How much did that setup cost you?

My Noise Marines would have a great time turning them into sexy underpants.

In the last edition, Imperial Guard were the most potentially broken list of them all.

This was the ultimate asshole list up until the new Necron codex and the rise of the ungodly bullshit that is Cron Air.

Aw man, I spent quite a lot of time on Warhammer 40k's wiki last week and part of the current too, reading just about everything covering the main lore, specially the Horus Heresy.
Lion el'Jonson and the Dark Angel's story was one of the best!
That army of yours looks awesome!

Oh really? Last time I played was 5-6 years ago I think. Good looking army you got there though.
Edit: Actually it was probably longer than that, more like 7ish years ago (Necron codex sounds familiar but can't remember much to be honest) I'm guessing because the shop I went to stopped playing that and went to warmachine (I think that was the name of it) instead so I played that for a couple of years before I stopped playing

I used to play Dark Angels! Here are a few of mine, including a half-finished Land Raider that I desperately need to take the time to complete...

Nice job on the paint, I've always wanted to give that game a go

There are days I don't even want to think about it, but right now, I'm in a golden age where two of my friends are play, so it definitely feels worth it. If I had to guess, over a decade+ of playing this game, I may have sunk 5 figures into it altogether.

Thanks much! Tremendously fun, tremendously expensive.

Awesome! I would like to play some time, just maybe not make the financial investment. I play MTG and even that's got a very tiny budget.

Haha, it does seem that way. I may be starting to play Hordes soon, so we'll see how it goes!

Oh do give it a shot (Maybe more than one as after you start to get a grasp on the rules, the real fun starts to happen.) it's a game that satisfies like no other game I've ever played. And when you get to the point where you're dropping down more than 3000+ points in an Apocalypse game, it feels epic like nothing you've ever played before. (Not my pic.)

I heard plenty good about Hordes and it's a bit more balanced and cost effective! Give it a shot!

Yeah, it looks awesome. I've seen games that size at my local comic/card/tabletop shop. It's fun to just spectate. I should ask some of those guys to at least give me the ol' newbie tutorial while they play.

Nice paint jobs! I played 40k back in the day, Eldar/Chaos Space Marines.
Good luck tomorrow!

If you went looking for the new Guard codex now, you won't find it, because for whatever reason they're the "Astra Militarum" now.
